Do PIR motion sensors work through windows? - pir infrared for sale
When I have a PIR (passive infrared) motion detector ride behind a window, will collect the movement, on the other side of the window?

Two ways to answer your question.
1. A theoretical approach.
a. Locate a spectral sensitivity curve of the PIR sensor. I searched the internet and found only this: http://www.murata.com/products/catalog/p ... (Graphic on the top 9). It seems that the spectral sensitivity of the instrument is covered by a filter.
b. Find a spectral response curve of the glass. This depends on the formulation of the cup.
c. If there is a band in the spectrum of glass and PIR sensors have both a right answer (ie glass can support electromagnetic waves at certain intervals, and can detect the sensor PIR) detector PIR works through glass. However, my impression is that the typical glass block in the frequency of infrared heat.
2. Experimental Approach
a. Take a piece of glass and a PIR sensor. See if you can detect through glass.
